The Cathedral Church of St Thomas of Canterbury. It is the cathedral of the Church of England Diocese of Portsmouth and is located in the centre of Old Portsmouth. It is the seat of the Bishop of Portsmouth.
A district of the city of Portsmouth. It is the area covered by the original medieval town of Portsmouth as planned by Jean de Gisors.
The building was designed in the neo-classical style by architect William Hill. Local architect Charles Bevis, in partnership with Hill, directed the construction. Hill died before the building was completed and Bevis added to the design.
